TexEng Software Ltd:

Computer-aided design is now widely used for colour and pattern in consumer textiles, but has not been much used for the structure and mechanics of technical textiles. The 20th Century saw major advances in academic understanding of the structural mechanics but industrial application has not been easy.

TexEng Software Ltd is a software company dedicated to providing tools that are easy to use, which simplify and speed up common tasks and communication, and open the way to mechanical and other design predictions for technical textiles.

  • A spin-off company from
    • Textiles in University of Manchester and
    • Tension Technology International Ltd (TTI)
  • In cooperation with TechniTex Faraday Partnership
  • Founded in December 2004
  • To bring to industrial usage computer programs for CAD of technical textiles:
    • TechText CAD
    • Weave Engineer
    • Other useful software, including access to Nottingham University programs for textile-based composites.
